Mood Board
My overall theme with this project is simple and to show the natural texture and color food has. i tried to do as little editing as i could to try and show the texture of food. i learned a lot about how much light can make your shot totally different.

Editing in photoshop and light room
for editing in this photo i used the laso tool and removed the string holding the mini pepper up and made the background darker using a mask
The setup
Shoot 2/3
Final series
in the broccoli shot i used a mask to make the background darker and lightened the greens. while taking the photo i used the flash and covered it with a piece of cardstock to reflect the light behind me to brighten up the front.
in all the pepper shots i used the heal tool to remove some patches and used a mask to lighten the peppers while making the background darker. while taking the shots for the peppers i used a mix of fishing line and tooth pics to prop them up.
in the lemon shot i used a mask to bring out the bright yellow and made another mask to darken the background
The shot with the onions in a glass i made the background darker using a mask, upped the texture a little bit and made the green pop a bit more. i used a small vase to try and make them look like flowers in way.
Written Reflection
i went with a simple theme taking photos that emphasizes simplicity, texture, and color can be both exciting and intriguing. I started with choosing the right location, where natural light can showcase the food’s colors and textures without distractions. Finding the best angles helps to highlight the details of the food, whether it’s up close or from a wider perspective.
Good lighting was essential for bringing out the natural hues and textures of the food. Soft, diffused light worked best to avoid harsh shadows and overexposure.
Editing techniques i used were basic to not take away from the foods texture and color, but it was important not to overdo it. Simple adjustments to contrast, saturation, and sharpness helped refine the image while maintaining its texture and clarity
simplicity allowed the natural beauty of the food to shine through. By focusing on texture and color and keeping the composition clean and straightforward, i could create captivating images that show how much detail is in each food aswell as its color.
my setup contained a few pieces of foam board, black and white cardstock and tinfoil, tracing paper to diffuse and move the light.
some key take aways i have are, how you adjust the light can make or break your shot. i learned that keeping my iso lower, helps bringing up the exposure and color in lightroom. i also learned that you don’t need to edit your photo much to make it look good, most my shots were done with basic editing with bringing up the texture a little bit and bringing out the color and leaving the black background darker to focus on the food in the shots
a few things i improved on was my editing skills and ability to adapt to the environment for my shots, i learned that taking multiple of the same shot while changing the ISO shutter speed aperture and more can help to see what you need to fix to get a good shot so you dont need to do many heavy edits
