Work In progress/Before Afters

I tried to do as little edits as possible to not take away the main focus. i used B&W for a few cropped in photos as when they had color, the colors took away from the main focus on the subjects. i used the bare basics for editing tools as i wanted to try to see what i can do with superlight edits and minimal extensive editing techneques.

Work In prog…

Tech ex 11 intro

watch as we step into the enchanting world of Milo and Dante, where every paw print marks a new adventure, and every wag of the tail speaks volumes of joy. In this photo essay, we’ll accompany these two furry companions on a journey through the outdoors, capturing moments of exploration, companionship, and intense glares. Through Milo’s curious eyes and Dante’s playful spirit, we’ll discover the beauty of simple pleasures and the bond between us and our four-legged friends. As we follow them along in their story, we’ll not only witness the magic of a day on a dog’s walk but So, grab your treats and join Milo and Dante as we embark on a journey that reminds us that we do infact need nature.

Tech ex p2 outro

The idea of a photo essay is to tell a story. but how do we the viewer see the story? i wanted to show what a dog wants to see and do in their walk aswell as try to capture what they are feeling in those moments. weather its a stick on a ground to a bird in the sky, or even doing a trick to show us how smart they are.

During the ideation phase, I brainstormed various angles and perspectives to showcase Milo and Dante’s personalities. I wanted to convey their unique bond and the moments of spontaneity and happiness that unfold during their walks.

The creative process involved scouting locations, considering lighting conditions, and anticipating the dogs’ behavior to capture authentic moments. Flexibility was key, as I needed to adapt to changing environments and unexpected situations while maintaining focus on the narrative.

Challenges arose, such as unpredictable weather or distractions during the shoot. Overcoming these obstacles required patience and resourcefulness. I learned to embrace imperfections and find beauty in the spontaneity of the moment.

i wanted to capture not what i want them to see but instead capture what they want to see. i think i did so fairly well. my story is not about what we want but what they want.

Final Selection/Editing techniques

I wanted to do minimal editing, at most i wanted to bring out the colors of the forest and whites and blacks and browns on milo and dante. reasoning behind this is because i want to show what a dog wants to do on a walk and not take away the focus of each picture with vibrant obvious editing. i also like to see how the world looks as is not edited up.
